The Beach Club at Quivira Los Cabos
Created as an exclusive amenity for Quivira residents, The Beach Club, the ultimate oceanfront retreat, celebrated its official opening at a gala “Quivira Fest” on November 16.
Resort principals and VIP’s mingled with owners, residents and media at a splendid party on the beach, enjoying a refined outdoor environment, a spectacular sunset, and several enticing food stations and open bars.
Ernesto Coppel, Founder of Quivira Los Cabos and Pueblo Bonito Golf & Spa Resorts, delivered a few salutary remarks, noting that the eagerly anticipated Beach Club is a valuable addition to a resort and residential complex that has grown by leaps and bounds over the past few years.
The family-friendly Beach Club is situated beside Quivira’s thatched-roof golf clubhouse at the property’s southern end. The setting—where the desert meets the ocean—exudes luxury and serenity. The airy Beach Club features a large zero- entry pool, beach deck, hot tub, snack bar, bathrooms with showers and changing facilities, a fully-equipped gym (designed by local fitness celebrity Modu), a beachfront restaurant-bar, as well as green grass areas for special events.
Sports fans can be expected to gravitate to the large rectangular bar, which will feature six suspended flat-screen TV’s. Snacks, refreshing drinks and specialty cocktails are served along with extraordinary views of the ocean. The Beach Club menu includes ceviche, salads and top-quality poolside snacks.
Private daybeds, chaise lounges and a fire pit are also available for relaxation. A sailing boat cinema, with movies projected onto a canvas sail, provides a unique after-dark entertainment feature.
According to Irma Castro, architect and design director for Quivira Los Cabos and Pueblo Bonito Resorts, the Beach Club was two years in the planning stages. It took 18 months to complete. The shroud-like entryway to La Concha, the restaurant-bar, was initially inspired by a concha (seashell). The concept was later refined to more closely resemble the carapace of a sea turtle. (Migrating female
turtles lay their eggs on the resort community’s beaches). The steel framework of the structure is covered with woven palm fronds (of the type used to make palapas) to blend it in with the beach and desert. Similarly, the exterior wooden pillars of the gym, its exercise equipment faced to the sea, are carved in the shape of palm trees. Raised above the level of the beach, fitness center patrons will be able to see breaching whales offshore from mid-December through March.
According to Castro, “We wanted to create something fun, bold and unique, and I believe we’ve achieved that and more. Phase 1 is now complete; Phase 2 is expected to be finished in two to three years.”
Castro noted that the Beach Club will be managed by Q Life, a lifestyle program created exclusively for residents at Quivira Los Cabos. It offers a synergistic approach to individual pursuits and group activities. With its comprehensive
menu of programs, Q Life inspires residents to seek new ways to enjoy a healthy lifestyle while developing friendships with those who share their interests. This holistic club is also designed to promote physical, cultural, social and intellectual wellness among residents while maintaining harmony between the environment and the community.
The new Beach Club, designed to exceed expectations, checks all the boxes.
